I'm a full-stack software developer at Duo Security, a cybersecurity startup based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan that focuses on two-factor authentication. I lived in New York in a past life, working as a producer for al-Jazeera out of the United Nations. I'm a self-taught programmer, coming from an academic education in Music Composition and Arabic; for fun I started a Python course online and suddenly realized that coding is actually a lot more fun than I had been led to believe. Recently I've been blogging about classical music using Python to analyze large historic data sources. My experiences have made me a strong advocate for teaching programming as a basic skill to students as a critical tool to make sense of the world.
