Ted Morin
Ted is the current lead developer of Plover, free open source stenography software, written in Python. He is an amateur stenographer, using his steno machine instead of a regular keyboard to write code in his day job. After less than two years of learning, he writes over 150 words per minute. For contrast, professional stenographers write over 225 words per minute whereas your average computer typist types around 80 words per minute..
In real life, Ted is a software engineering student at the University of Ottawa, working between semesters at a medical technology start up, Clearwater Clinical. Favorite technologies include Python, JavaScript, and Scala.
